Best Baby Bathtub for Bathing a Newborn: Phil Weighs In

Thanks so much to Karibu for letting us try out a great collapsible baby bathtub! All opinions on bathing a newborn that follow are our own.

It’s that time of the pregnancy where we start looking for baby gear. The perfect stroller, the latest in space age bottle technology… The best baby bathtub. It’s so much fun to see how things have changed since Phil was a baby, but the bathtub thing totally blew my mind.

When Phil was born, we had one of the super basic baby bathtubs that’s a huge plastic bohemoth. It did the job for a great price, but man that thing was gigantic. And where do you put it when you’re not using it? It sits there on the floor of your bathtub just hulking around, reminding you that you have to move it somewhere else to use the shower.

But not the Karibu folding baby bathtub. This thing is amazing. Pop it up when you’re using it, fold it flat when you’re not. Use the super convenient hanging hook to get it out of the way until you’re bathing a newborn again!

Ok wait I forgot to mention something else. See that little blue plug at the bottom of the tub? You can see it in the shower photo above. The best baby bathtub ever takes the temperature of the water, and if it’s too hot… That plug turns white.

I’m pretty sure if I looked hard enough, I’d find a button to push that would cause this thing to make me breakfast.

I’m not the only one who was super excited about the best baby bathtub EVER. Phil picked out a fire engine red color for his new baby sister, and couldn’t wait to crack this thing open the second it got here! He wasted no time in telling me exactly how it worked and why it was so awesome:

Wanna see just how easy it is to pop this thing open when you’re ready to use it?

It’s so easy, a toddler could do it. Just watch:

I can’t wait for our little girl to get here in March. Until then… I might just bathe in this myself.

And seriously, how cute is our little boy Phil? Mark my words, he’s destined for a future on the Home Shopping Channel.
