The Essential Vacation Packing List for Families with Kids

The Essential Vacation Packing List for Families with Kids - Hearts and Laserbeams

I’m a chronic list-maker. I make list of what I’m going to accomplish at work each day, I make lists of the chores I’m tackling after the kids go to bed. I make lists of other lists.

If you’ve been paying attention to our Instagram, you know we headed back to southern California for a visit recently. My list making goes into overdrive when I travel…

This time, I kicked my vacation packing list up a notch from the old scribbles on a notepad I used to make. Using my spanky new Evernote subscription, I put together a master travel list that I’ll never lose ever again, that automatically syncs to my phone, tablet and desktop pc whenever I update it.

I am a huge nerd.

But then I thought maybe this vacation packing list would be helpful to other families traveling with kids.

And then I thought, that’s a great excuse to do some cute artwork.

Enjoy!

As far as baby gear goes, we use this Ergo carrier and this Graco stroller. They rock when you use em together for mad dashes from one plane to the next! We check our car seats with our luggage, and gate check the stroller. When it’s time to go from one plane to the next, Joy gets strapped to me in the baby carrier, Phil sits on the platform seat of the stroller, and our carry on bags pile onto the stroller where the infant car seat would snap on.

And for happy kids from one end of the country to the other, we’re talking 8+ hours of travel, don’t you dare put the toys and books in your checked luggage! Keep a carry-on sized bag with you of things to keep them occupied, and you’ll have calm children all day long whether you’re on a long flight or waiting out a lengthy layover.

Hope this vacation packing list was helpful!

Was there anything we forgot?
