There’s a few different movie theaters doing cheap summer movies this year, and like a nerd I found the full list, cross referenced each theater’s offerings with each other and my husband’s work schedule, and came up with our ultimate cheap movie agenda. We saw The Iron Giant on the big screen this week, and it was every bit as good as I remember. Bonus: it’s such a dang good movie for little boys. Phil immediately wanted to come home, get out the colored pencils and crayons, and spend the rest of the afternoon drawing robots.
I was totally okay with that.
This guy’s ray gun is pretty sweet.
This is my super fast version of The Iron Giant from memory.
I absolutely love the angry faces.
Oh this guy? He’s a rainbow-bot that’s roller skating around with some ice cream. Don’t mind him.
Dig the details on this robot’s chest.
I am RoboDog (patent pending patent pending patent pending). I am super technologically advanced, but I’m still going to make you get up in the middle of the night to let me outside.
The tree next to this guy is for scale – Phil was obsessed with how huge the robot in the movie was.
And this is RoboBat. He’s deep in the midst of the Batdance.
This guy is SERIOUS BIZNEZZ.
Joy just got up from naps.
RoboBunny is here to roller skate her way into your heart. Bee Bah Boop Bah Beep.
True story, one time Phil saw a real robot and he wouldn’t believe it was a robot because it didn’t make the sound I always make when I’m talking about robots.
I also robot dance.
I can’t tell you how happy this RoboNinja makes me.
Joy wanted to draw some more. Drawing robots wasn’t really her thing, so she drew the moon.
But Phil and I, we drew robot brains.
This one’s Phil’s – watching him make all the squiggly liney parts of the brain was super awesome.
Do you like drawing robots?
You should probably draw some and then post your work on my Facebook page!
